The Pain Lingers

She decided to divert her attention to somebody else – Noel. Noel is a good guy; someone who’s friendly and very down to earth. Aisha doesn’t really have the affection for him, but to some extend, she would rather be close with him than any other in her league. Noel seem to have the same notion as her. He also doesn’t have the affection for her but he simply likes being around with her. He seem to feel something, someone perhaps, been bothering Aisha. He couldn’t provide a proof but it seems Noah had something to do with it. On the contrary, he is not in the position to meddle with the issue.

Aisha believe that she’s not fully transparent to the guy he is standing infront. She always believed that Noel doesn’t have a clue that she’s really hurting inside. But she knows Noah is staring at him from afar. She’s not happy with where she is now. She’s not glad even a little for the weird attention Noah gave at this very moment.

She glanced at him. He saw it. No smile, only a stare. She bowed her head, said an excuse to Noel, went to the nearest powder room and cried.

“Why I like him so much? Why is he making me insane? Why he doesn’t show he care? Doesn’t he like me? I hope he can see through me and feel how much I like him.”

And she cried again.

Noah's Agony

Noah knew he’s not making any sense. He knew he is hurting her. He knew he is really trying to avoid her. But why? He often asked himself. Why would he do that? Why would he dare to keep the distance?

It’s because of Sophia. He closed his eyes and deeply sighed.

He’s dating Sophia even before he met Aisha. He likes her, that’s why. He never thought something would come up and complicate his life. He never thought he could possibly lie and keep some strangest feeling towards someone. He had never done it before but the act of thinking of somebody else while dating Sophia guilt him. He has done it many times. And many times, he feel so stupid because he is fighting against himself. His heart beats so fast whenever he thinks of her, but his mind knocks him up to reality.

He knew, his heart knew, he is starting to like Aisha.

But he doesn’t want to hurt her, and there’s nothing he can do. If she’s hurting, he’s paining as twice as her, even more than he could imagine.

She weeps again

She’s astonished. He did not say a word to her again. He had seriously not paying attention to her, she thought. He did not even glance a little or move a bit towards her. He is ignoring her, he is throwing her away. She, once again, came home grieving.

She sat there again, up out there, where the cold wind seems to comfort her, where the moon and the stars console her. She’s crying again. She’s grieving again.

“I can’t discern why I got this feeling for him.. this terrible feeling that only my foolish heart can explain. I am happy when he’s there but am paining inside because he is so near yet he is too far. He became more and more and more afar from me. I couldn’t stand it anymore. Why? Why? I am so pathetic. I don’t want to keep this feeling. It is despicable and erroneous one-sided love. Sighs, it was me all alone.. it was only me who loved him all along. Oh, how painful! How pathetic of me”

Tears fell from her eyes and she weep again.

Aisha's Lamenting

Aisha begun to wonder why he changed? Unlike him, her feelings toward him intensely increasing. Everyday she dreamt of being close to him. She’d email him, call him and messaging him, but he chose to keep distance. Not a message, neither a call from him which left her wondering why. Perhaps, she had overdone it. Perhaps, she has exaggerated it. Perhaps, he doesn’t really like her at all.

It has been awhile since she sat there. About a couple of hours ago, she decided to go up there and ponder. Not a single word came out from her mouth but tears kept flowing from her eyes. She couldn’t find any reason why she’s crying, maybe her heart is crying and her eyes console. She wanted to stop but it is hurting her even more. The beat of her heart sounds too loud. She couldn’t hear anything else but her broken heart.

“Whatever pain I am feeling right now is so shallow for me to understand what it truly means. I have no f****g right to feel this and be this way. This feeling of solitude perhaps made me linger to that sort of belongingness I considerably tried to put on him. He misses to distinguish all the time which pains me more because I am feeling disregarded. I wish I knew what’s on his mind so I may know where to place myself. I hated this part of me. It’s annoying. I’m always the loser.”

She cried.

The Corridor

She was waiting for her friends at the corridor when he passed by. She did not notice him. She’s busy reading her book. He went on, paused and went back to say ‘hi’. Did I do something to upset her? She did not even say hi to me? He asked himself trying to figure out what had happen day before that day. Nothing, he’s sure.

Aisha raised her head to check where that ‘hi’ came from. She smiled. He actually says ‘hi’ to me! He actually took time to come to me! This is really sweet! Her mind screams. ‘Hello Noah. What’s up?’ she utter. ‘Sorry I was reading.’ She adds. ‘No worries, I know you are.’

A long silence covered them. She doesn’t know what to do. He doesn’t know how to start the conversation. But they both knew, the electrifying sensation was there within them. They both love the feeling of being close together. Just he standing there and she sitting there was enough to make them uncomfortable.

‘Want to sit?’ She broke the ice. ‘Yeah, that would be great.’

They were unaware how long they talk and laugh together. She’s feeling awesome. He’s feeling so good. She’s really adorable. He’s very cute. She likes looking straight to his hazelnut eyes. He likes staring at her misty eyes.

‘How I want to hold her hand and say I like her.’ He wishes silently.
‘Oh how I want him to hold my hand because I like him.’ Her silent fantasy.

Friends came, and it’s time to go. Noah got up first and helps her stood up. ‘At Last!’ they both silently bawl.

Her hand’s so feminine. His hand’s so masculine. They both felt thrilled. They both smiled and said goodbye.

Noah who?

She was on the phone for quite some time now; talking to stranger as her boss’ daughter told her to do. So she has to do something. She has to solve this concern before it’s too late. Who can help her? She paused. According to the guy she’s talking to, it’ll take 2 days. But it has to be done today. She paused again then thought of Noah. She logged on her email account and emailed him. She knew he can help her. Her boss’ daughter concern is what this guy’s working on everyday.

In less than 2 minutes, she got his reply. ‘Call me on this number’; that line along with its number reads so intense to her. She dialed the number with unexplainable feelings. Her stomach bubbles. When she heard the voice on the other line, she almost dropped the receiver. ‘Can I speak to Noah?’ she opt how to start but told ‘Is this Noah?’ instead. There was a few seconds of silence.

She paused, the guy from the other line also paused. When he spoke ‘Noah Who?’, ‘Who’s Noah?, she begun to recall if she dialed the correct number or was she again being so stupid dial it incorrectly?

‘Noah told me to call this number. Can I speak to him?’ She just replied.
‘Noah Who? Who’s Noah?’ repeatedly questioning her. She was muted again. She couldn’t answer and plan to just drop the call.
‘Noah, a friend?’ Unmanaged to come up with a suitable answer. With the questioning sound of her statement, the guy from the other line begun to laugh. Laughter that was so charming on her ears.
‘Hello Aisha! How are you?’ He finally told. She could die that very moment. All the while, she is talking to him. She couldn’t believe her ears. It’s really him on the line. Noah, whom that guy, who starts stealing her heart and sanity.

She managed to pull herself back together and pass to him her concerns. It was just a piece of cake to him. He managed to do it more quickly than she thought he could do. He is really amazing to her being. He is now her knight in his shining armor.

“This is my job, but I’m doing this one especially for her. So, I have to do this quick. This is for her. This will make her happy and will make me too.” Noah silently told himself.
